Parshall Seeks Second Championship

Elma, WA -- For Jack Parshall, there's only one plan when his number 9 machine rolls off the trailer: win. The 2014 Grays Harbor Raceway Street Stock champion, Parshall now leads the field into the Q-Mart Season Championships by just 13 points - a narrow margin by any view. But for Parshall, the added drama of the points battle isn't getting to his head.

"Going into this year after winning the championship, all the pressure was gone. I'm good friends with Jason Tole who has multiple championships - I had none. Now [that] I got one, it took the monkey off my back," said Parshall. Not only did the Hoquiam, Washington driver win the Cut Rate Auto Parts Street Stock championship in 2014, but won eight Feature Events in doing so.
"I would like to thank crew chief Roger Wilder, he puts hours and hours of wrench turning - I couldn't do it without him. Dana and Maryann from Budweiser for both the support and the sponsorship," Parshall said.

In 2014, after 28 years of racing, 43-year-old Parshall broke through the championship ceiling at Grays Harbor Raceway by 112 points over competitor Eddie Blood.
"I started racing when I was 15 years old and have raced every year since," said Parshall.
"Racing, for us, is a family sport. My uncles raced, my dad raced, and my kids used to race go karts." Needless to say, racing isn't just an adrenaline rush for Jack Parshall - it's the glue that keeps his family going.
"I've even put my wife [Wendy], my mother, and one of my sisters behind the wheel of a racecar," Parshall added.

But none of them are as cool and collected as Jack behind the wheel of a car. He never thinks much of the points battle when he shows up to the racetrack, and the same mentality has carried over to the entire 9 team.
"Our plans are always the same every race: try to win the race. If you can't win, get what you can and salvage a finish if the car isn't perfect or broken." This has kept the team on the right track in 2015 as Parshall has only one win (July 18) heading into the final round of racing this Saturday night.
"I've always been real consistent. Austin and Shane [Kerrigan] have been faster than me all year in the Mains but I really put a lot of effort into qualifying which is how we have been able to keep points tight all year," said Parshall.

This weekend, Jack Parshall could very well be crowned champion for the second time in 28 years of racing - in back to back seasons. He will have competitors Austin Kerrigan and Shane Kerrigan on his heels in his quest for the Feature win and championship, but Jack has a little motivation for the weekend.
"Nobody remembers second place when it comes to racing."

Jack Parshall would also like to thank Cody, Christian Burgess from Jack Nutt, his family, friends and the fans for so much support.
